Diabetic Feet

People often know that diabetes can causes problems with feet but other than gangrene the reasons why are often very confused.


Diabetes is a condition where an organ in the body called the pancreas fails to produce the correct levels of something called insulin. Insulin controls the level of sugar we have in our blood and when the levels are high the sugar works a bit like an acid eating away at the body causing damage.


The main two main problems in the foot are nerve damage (neuropathy) and or poor circulation (Ischaemia).
